Applicable to Windows XP Important Note regarding .NET Frameworks- Read this if you get an exception while installing or Running Comfigurator If you do not have the latest updates or Service Packs for the .NET Framework you may get an exception when you install or run Comfigurator 3, or otherwise Comfigurator may run but may be very slow and cause exceptions Please make sure that you have .NET Framework 2.0 SP2. There is a known problem caused by a Microsoft bug introduced in the .NET Framework 2.0 SP1. It's supposed to be fixed in SP2 which can be downloaded from here Please check that the download page says Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Service Pack 2 Redistributable Package (x86)and NOT Compact Framework Version 2.0. If you have installed the Compact version by mistake please uninstall it and install the correct version Please make sure you the .NET Framework 2.0 SP2, NOT the .NET Compact Framework SP2 which is meant for handhelds. .NET Frameworks 3.0 and 3.5 are not needed for Comfigurator 3.0 but it does no harm to have them installed How to determine which versions of the .NET framework you have? The simplest way is to go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel This article at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/kb00318785.aspx also tells you how to determine what versions are installed and which are available The free software .NET Detector http://www.asoft.be/prod_netver.html is a handy tool that shows which .NET versions are available and which are installed and more importantly a link to download the new update Attached Image (viewed 151 times): Last edited on Saturday Sep 27th, 2014 01:05 pm by admin |
