Hello,

I am having problems with a DS02 doorstation in that I can no longer hear mic input from the doorstation to internal phones. This was previously working ok and audio out from internal phone to doorstation is still working ok. I have upgraded firmware a couple of times, but unfortunately am unable to pinpoint when this stopped working. No comfigurator settings have changed and no wiring has changed. DS02 to DM02 and DM02 to comfort panel (mic/voice) have all been checked and verified ok.

Any ideas?

Comfort firmware Ult 6.011
UCM Ethernet 6.012
DS02 v1.003

How about keypad to door station intercom? Can you hear the door station from the keypad?

How about phone to keypad by pressing 5 for Voice station?

It may be a fault on the DS02 mic or DM02 or in the Comfort circuit so we want to eliminate the comfort mic input

It appears that the DM02 or DS02 microphone may be faulty

Can you checkk if the DS02 microphone wire may have broken off?
Also there is an adjustment for DS02 mic and speaker volume on the DS02 itself
The volume controls should be midway between min and max

Otherwise you may have to send both DM02 and DS02 for repair or exchange if under warranty

I've checked the wiring again and it's good. The adjustment on the DS02 is midway on both controls.

Is there any way to isolate the issue to either the DM02 or DS02?

Open a default template using the latest Comfigurator, do Write Selective for Tuning Parameters only so that to be sure that wring parameters did not get into the Comfort somehow

Otherwise to know if the problem is due to DS02 mic or DM02 may be difficlult - you either have a spare set to swap out or you have an oscilloscope to check if there are signals on the mic or DM02 mic connector. Even a voltmeter may help

I already tried the tuning parameters tip from a previous post. No luck.

Try tightening the terminals or make sure the contacts are firm
Sometimes the connection looks good but the conttact may not be firm

Tried again. Just for good measure I also replaced the DS02 mic. Still the same. All wires have been tested for continuity. I've got to say, this sounds more like a software issue to me. Working to begin with. A few updates later, no longer working, no changes to wiring.

Is it possible to backward update firmware?

Yes it is possible. What firmware were you on before the upgrade

ULT 6.005
UCM/Ethernet 6.008.

Am I safe to go back to these?

Though as I said, I can't pinpoint when it stopped working, it may have been prior to the previous versions. Previous versions before that were the older update method though, so don't want to go back to those.

You can change the firmware to ULT 6.005 using the attached file to test if it has any effect on the DP02 audio which I doubt. You can always upgrade again

Do not downgrade the Ethernet  as this should not have anythng to do with the door station, it is just for programming

No luck. Really would like to try to isolate either the dm02 or ds02 before returning it. I have a spare mic now from the ds02. Would it work to wire the spare mic itself directly to the voice/mic inout on dm02 (ireplacing ds02 input) and test the mic input to the phones that way? If so how would i wire? The Mic has two wires, + and -

No the DS02 mic cannot be connected to the DM02 MIC, it has to go through the DS02 amplifier
Do you have another spund source that you can connect to the DS02 MIC. Remember this is the connecyion labbeled "To DOOR " MIC JP7

You cam also try removing the wire from JP6 SPK IN (from Comfort) and connecting it to JP7 MIC. This connects the voice from Comfort to DM02 and connects it to MIC IN (from DS02) so that when you talk to the Door station, the voice is actually not going to the DS02 but will be fed into the DM02 MIC instead of the DS02 Mic so you can hear it at the other end
I hope this is not too confusing

I was able to borrow a dm02 and ds02 and have isolated the issue to the dm02. Borrowed dm02 works fine. Ive checked the connections and terminals and any obvious breaks on the dm02 itself. Externally all looks good, the mic input just seems to have stopped working. It's out of warranty unfortunately.

*(Thanks again Nigel, you have been a massive help here.)*

I am glad the problem has been identified
Please return it to whoever you bought the DM02 from so we can check what happened
Unles there is any damage we should not be charging for the repairs
