I've got a strange issue where Comfort and CBUS occaisionally aren't talking - I have various CBUS buttons to kick off Comfort responses for critical items, and have been doing so for around 5 years with no issues.

I've recently upgraded the CBUS UCM to 5.235 (the latest) - co-incidence ?

I can see in the CBUS monitor the button is pressed, but Comfort I/O monitor shows no signs of activity. The HomeSeer log shows no real activity, so it cannot be bus traffic overload (that is being reported)

Previously, I have been pressing the "reset" button on the CBUS UCM to kick things back into life, but tonight, I kept trying the same CBUS button until eventually it started working again. The same code on this particular button has not changed in 4 years.

How can we debug this ?

Yes you can change the firmware back to the previous version
CBus 5.216 can be downloaded from this post http://www.comfortforums.com/forum85/1965.html

Let us know if you encounter the same problem

HI

I was on that firmware before, and I didn't have that problem.

Before I go through the pain of a downgrade, would Cytech like to debug the issue with me and produce a fix ? I would suggest removing the current firmware from download until such time as a resolution can be found.

We have not managed to duplicate that problem yet
we have been trying to debug it with Ingo
There may be an issue with the use of the Cbus Toolkit which may be causing  this problem

I don't run toolkit except when re-configuring the system, or when looking at the log after this Comfort problem appears.

The fact the previous firmware worked, and this latest firmware has problems, puts the problem firmly in the CBUS UCM arena.

I also have a problem with the UCM CBUS with firmware ver 5.235

When the cbus network is powered on the ucm does not connect to the cbus network unless the reset button is pressed on the ucm.

Gone back to firmware 5.216 and the ucm connects automatically when the cbus network is powered.

That should not be a problem with Cbus 5.235
I think you will find that it should initialise when the cbus wire is first connected or cbus power is turned on but it takes some time, because the SIM module takes a while to wake up and start flashing its leds. But it always happens

Pressing the reset button forces the UCM to look for the Cbus network so it is faster

If i remember correctly there was a power cut when i was at work an when i returned home power was restored but comfort was not communicating with CBUS the D3 led was lit. Did a CBUS UCM reset and it started communicating.

Have you got ver 5.235 so that i can test again?

CBUS UCM has a ST7 sim
