I am considering replacing my landline with the GSM module. I would like to see what it can offer by way of functionality. Can the GSM modulereplace these functions?

1. Outgoing phonecalls made by using internal telephones through the sim card installed in the GSM module.

2. In alarmed/ unoccupied mode can the MicroDP2 Doorphone use GSM module to ring out to my mobile telephone connecting me to the person calling on the doorphone?

3. I see in the blurb for the GSM unit that voicemail is not available (as it would be with a landline connection), has this changed or is voicemail still not available. If not are there plans to add this functionality?

4. Is there a method of querying the balance on a prepaid sim card through comfort. This would avoid removal of the sim from the unit to query the balance in a standard mobile phone, then replacing the sim back in the GSM module.

5. Is there a simple way to block out the presence of the landline in comfort to avoid "phone trouble" and other related issues?

Thanks

Lenny

No, the GSM does not allow phone calls. It takes the palce of the landline for Comfort dial in and dial out only

2. In alarmed/ unoccupied mode can the MicroDP2 Doorphone use GSM module to ring out to my mobile telephone connecting me to the person calling on the doorphone?

Yes

That has changed. It now has the voicemail function

No, there is no standard way of doing this. It depends on the operator. A postpaid SIM card ie with a plan would be best as these do not cost much nowadays

5. Is there a simple way to block out the presence of the landline in comfort to avoid "phone trouble" and other related issues?

Yes, check Disable Line Cut in Modules and Settings

Thanks

Thanks for the prompt reply. I knew the internal phone dial-out function was pushing it but I am glad to see the voicemail functionaality has been included for this module. This was the main issue holding back purchase.
