We now have a situation where we are regularly programming comfigurator with some quite complex code.
Would it be possible to monitor what is happening on the bus!
So that when we write some code we can see what is being implemented on the bus – and thus more quickly diagnose what is happening ina given programming situation!
I’m aware of the feature in the home control screen to activate a response and also the event log - but I think that something more sophisticated is now required.

We do have another tool which monitors communications on the Comfort RS485 bus. We use it internally for debuggng and troubleshooting. I think we can provide it for selected installers to use

OK but would it not be a good idea to add it into the next upgrade of comfigurator - the last thing I want to do is add yet another program onto the laptops that then has potential release and compatibility issues!

In fact Wizcomfort and Comfigurator both have monitoring modes which allow you to monitor many events like zone transitions, alarms, counters etc.
In Comfigurator, go to Menu Transfer > Monitor I/O
This will allow you to see the reports from the UCM in the Monitor Window
You can also type commands to Comfort according to the Serial Protocol (download from http://www.cytech.biz http://www.cytech.biz/techinfo.html
The other tool I mentioned monitors the Comfort RS485 bus directly and shows all the communications. This will be useful for installers it is not for general users. It will be made available in the Installers restricted part of the forum soon

Hello Chiu,
I have used this tool and it is a great help.
Is it possible to add a feature where we can log to a file, the output that appears on the screen.
Also please make a note that the tool only works from a specific version of the UCM.
I am not sure what it is, but I could not get it to work with an older version, where it did with a later version. I am not sure from which version it is supported.
Regards

We have just uploaded the new version of the program to our Installers forum. There is a minimum version which is stated aqs well
Possibly in the future we coukd introiiduce this save text feature which should not e difficult. In the meantime itis quite easy to copy the text and save to a file
