Please note that the 6 way UCM Programming cable shown below should NOT be connected between the UCM and the Comfort PCB in normal operations. It should be connected ONLY when doing a Firmware Upgrade using the UCM.

If this programming cable is connected between the UCM and Comfort, it will put Comfort into Firmware Uograde Mode and the system will not be operational

Hi

Is this just best practice here or is there a technical reason for this "reminder" posting?

In this forum...

http://www.comfortforums.com/view_topic.php?id=1282&forum_id=1&highlight=programming+cable

...it was said that we could leave connected at the MPU end and PP2 shunted if needed, and in fact I do this to prevent othewise having to remove my LEM "piggy-back"ed card.

Can you confirm?

Julian

This warning is because we have come across some new customers who have connected the programming cable between the UCM and Comfort, and find that their Comfort does not operate.

The warning should be not to connect to both ends.
