I've just got hold of a SMartfit UCM and I can't get it to talk to Comfort, here's what I'm seeing.
Smartfit UCM D1 on, D9 off, D10 blinks green, which I guess means that it's receiving from Comfort but not transmitting.
Connected via a UCM01 and also direct in the UCM01's place. No change. UCM01 has no problems and works fine. I've already tried changing the UCM ID.
Comfort alarms with 'UCM failure' and Wizcomfort shows RS485 Comms fail (18).
It's a Gen 1 Comfort with firmware 'Action 4.234', the UCM01 is 5.79 and the Smartfit UCM is 5.22
Any ideas ??

If D9 (red) is not blinking it means that the UCM/Smartfit is noit responding to polls from Comfort. D10 (green) blinking means it is receiving Rs485 comms from Comfort, but you have not set the Number of UCMs according to the highest UCM ID that is connected to your system
If the Smartfir UCM ID is set to 2 and you have no othewr UCMs then Number of UCMs should be 2 (in Modules and Settings)

Thanks for that - it all makes sense now.
I'd aquired the Smartfit UCM from another Comfort user and had left the ID number the same (3), thinking that as long as it was different from the existing UCM it would work. I hadn't realised it had to be the next in series, which makes sense for the bus topology. The previous user had 3 UCM's so the ID was set to 3. I've only got the 2 so changing the ID to '2' fixed it.
Chalk it down to 'pilot error' and many thanks for the quick response.

I'm still having some problems - I've got the Smartfit UCM talking but not 100%.
Here's a screenshot from Wizcomfort, only some of the counters seem to be updating and I can't get any response from any of the Query or override commands.
As you can see the 'Room temperature setpoint', 'Hot water setpoint' etc remain unpopulated, even after trying to run the query command. Also, to enable the 'Smartfit' tab I had to manually edit the wizcomfort INI file, is this normal ?
The working counters (Room temp,Hot water temperature and the Water/Heating demand) all update as expected when I change settings on the Smartfit control panel.
Help
Kevin.

Can you try using the Control Menu feedback mechanism to query the Room Temp setpoint and Hot water setpoints outside of Wizcomfort? This is described in the UCM/Smartfit manual.
It may be tyhat Wizcomfort does not send the proper commands to query these parameters
The UCM/Smartfit is rarely used now, as it seems that Smartfit is not a popular option anymore
