Hi,

I am about to install 2 wire ACT ZDW232. I am hoping I can use one of Merten patress box insert in a wall socket. These look like they need a third wire neutral. Assuming i change this on my wall sockets which of the Merten Connect insert could I use?

I am not sure what you intend to do. The ZDW232 is a Z-Wave wall switch which replaces a conventional switch
The Merten Connect insert presumably is also a wall switch/receiver. They are alternatives to each other, arent they
I hope a Comfort is going into the system as well to control these?

This is in my planning. I am hoping to use Heatmiser, Z-wave and comfort as the backbone for my home automation plans. I am moving a to new house where I plan to remove the old security system with comfort, install AV system around HDMI V1.3C/1.4, some CAT6 with windows media centre being the interface.

Lighting will be Z-Wave. Zonal heating will be Thermaskirt and Systemlink(Ireland). Each room a separate zone and additional heat sources. Work will mainly but not exclusively DIY. I am still in the planning stages and may take unto a year to fulfill.

Z-Wave switches are good. However, the UK wall sockets present an minor issue. I think the Merten connect patress box inserts may do the job but I am not sure -hence my question. Your specification of the Z-Wave interface should handle the Merten and ACT units. It still means I must plan, plan and plan.

We have seen limited numbers of the Merten Connect switches as they have not introduced them everywhere yet. We have tested adding these switches to a Z-Wave network together with ACT so they do inter-operate

Zwave is a very good technology for low cost home automation although  not as flashy as other lighting systems, but then not everyone needs expensive designer stuff
