Hi

Being trying to check the versions of the 3 UCM's I have in my system.

Assumed I could use u?11, u?12, u?13 respectively to do this via the UCM I/O monitor but nothing comes back.

What am I doing wrong.  Obvously the UCM connected to teh PC reports back via the U? command but surely I should be able to get the same info back from the u? command as well.

J

Hi

Are you able to share what the ETA is on this firmware?

OK I've re-run this "u" test with Beta 5.166 today and get the following:

> SR01
< OK
> u?11
< u?110A05B2
> SR01
< OK
> u?12
< u?12000000
> SR01
< OK
> u?13
< u?130A05B2

So you can see my two UCM05's; ID's 1 and 3 report their versions correctly.  My Smartfit UCM (ID 2) reports all zero's; is this because it needs an update to the UCM firmware too to make it report?

How long should I hold my breath for a new version of Smartfit firmware IC (that also fixes my "69" issue);  ie what depth of blue would you like me :D.  I'm thinking the answer is probably "don't hold your breath"!!

When I look at the smartfit UCM isn't it purely the old style UCM base board loaded with a Smartfit firmware and then holding the Smartfit specific microcontroller daughterboard?  If you had a flash version of the UCM firmware wouldn't it be feasible to plug this daughterboard into a newer UCM05 (via the 10 way connector) and use a flash smartfit firmware to make it easier to keep up to date? I'm sure it's not quite that simple but hopefully you get where I'm coming from?

Thats right, the UCMs need a new firmware update to be able to report their firmware version to the u? command. This requires the new flashable UCM PCB instead of the old style UCM with the U1 IC in a  socket that you have. We currently do not have Smartfit firmware of the flashable type as there has been no demand for it in several years. Even so that would not solve the problem of the 69 value when heating is off
I have looked through old correspondence - this was actually reported to Honeywell in 2002 as an issue with the Smartfit protocol

The answer given by Honeywell in the Smartfit forum
http://www.comfortforums.com/view_topic.php?id=708&forum_id=42

The setpoint transmitted by the room unit when Off has been selected has a specific value to indicate Off. In hexadecimal this value will be in the range 7E00 to 7EFF, and should be decoded as an Off value, Cytech should have this information.
also indicates that there is no meaningful value of Room Temperature setpoint when the heating is off. Comfort has to report a value, so perhaps it was the last valid value
