I have a minderpro system installed and are busy adding a doorstation - tried to get the siren quiet when you press the doorstation, when suddenly the message TEXT ERROR PRESS * 1 TO SYN appear on the LCD screen. I then press together * and 1 - the download started and complete, but the same message appeared again (tried several times). I also lost the connection between the computer and the UCM (NO RESPONSE FROM UCM). Kindly assist.

Regards

I presume the system was working fine before you added the door station?
Can you describe the step-by-step of how you add the door station that leads to the problems encountered?

More questions:
Is there voice on the keypad, ie can you sign in and get the voice menu?

What is the state of the red/green leds on the Comfort PCB?

There is no voice on the system and only the error message on the lcd screen. On the PCB the green light is steady. I sensed at one stage that the C-BUS UCM the two red led busy on error is on - I then disconnected that UCM and tried the download again - no success. The PC UCM only green light on. I must have change some crutial parameter without realising. Will it be possible to reset the system completely? Without the voice one do not know if the signing in code is effective.

Switch off the power and remove the battery, then re-apply power and check if the voice is restored
If not, the voice has been corrupted, and will have to be reprogrammed
The voice file called kate28.bin can be downloaded from http://www.cytech.biz/Default.aspx?cmd=sQ0OYE9X66w%2b0P%2bAcFsmAI3j73Rwtfrj&fileid=176&dcid=1&pageindex=

You need to do a vocabulary download to Comfort using the UCM05
In Comfigurator (MindIT), go to Transfer > Vocab Download and select the kate28.bin file
The transfer takes about 20 minutes. If it fails for any reason do the Vocab download again. After it completes, it should reset itself, otherwise do a system reset from the menu. The voice should then be heard

It is not known why your voice was lost. perhaps a voltage surge was introduced into the board somehow. However nothing has been damaged and the system can still operate although you cannot hear the voice

I removed the power supply and replaced again and the same error message appear. So yes I need to download the vocabulary file. MY PROBLEM IS THAT I CANNOT GET INTO THE SYSTEM WITH MINDERPRO OR CONFIGURATOR - I get the message NO RESPONSE FROM UCM all the time. I linked in via hyperterminal and get a response from the system no problem. I also activated MONITOR I/O on MinderPro and see the response from the zones. The system is not accepting any signin code not 1234 or 6789. Kindly assist.

You say you managed to connect via Hyperterminal
Do you mean that you can enter [ControlC]LInnnn[ENTER] when nnnn is the user code, and you can see LU01 (login user 1)?

This means that the code and the connection are OK

Do you get the message "No Response from UCM" when you connect via Comfigurator or MindIT?  This means that the COM port you have chosen is not the right one. Are you using a serial to USB converter? If so it selects a random COM port which you can find in Windows Control  Panel > System > Hardware

You must select the same COM port in Comfigurator/Mindit

No, I am using RS 232 Cable and Com1 On both MindIT and Configurator, but get the response from both programs - NO RESPONSE FROM UCM - The same configuration worked fine before the error message on the LCD panels - I have also disconnected one of the two LCD panels no success.

In your earlier post  you said that the Green LED (D10) on the UCM is on (blinking rapidly) and D9 (red) is off
This means that MinderPro is not addressing the UCM.

First check that the UCM ID is set to 1 (ABCD shunts inserted)
Then is the Number of UCMs in your file set to at least 1? If it is 0 then the system is not polling the UCM and you will not be able to connect to the UCM

I am assuming that you have set the number of UCMs=0
You need to use the keypad to change the number of UCMs but if you have no voice then it will be diffcult
Make sure that the Keypad ID of the keypad you are using is 1, ie ABCD shunts inserted. However if you have also set number of Keypads to 0 then you have a problem

Follow these instructions to change the number of UCMs to 1

Press F0 and 6789# for Engineer Menu. You may not hear anything.
Press 7,4,1 for Locations
Press 1672# (number of UCMs)
Press 1#

Reset Comfort

Hi,

The same problem has occured several times while programming. The only working remedy I have found is to restart the confort manually(by pressing restart) or by switching off power supply and then turning on. Then press *1 to synchonise keypad with the comfort.

Please guide. Is there any detection method so as to locate the fault?

Regards,
Manas

Yup.

1. I connect all modules and start programming. 'Download complete' indication on PC

2. When I reach kp, it shows the error, 'press *1 to synchronise'. This error happen randomely(acc to my rough observation).

3. When I press *1, sync gets completed but error msg remains. But this time, I am able to listen to announcements.. such as 'security off', 'night mode', or any other alarms.

4. When I reset comfort manually, the text error is again displayed. But if I press *1 this time, sync gets completed and I get a proper disply with 'date/time and status'.

Will it help? because comfort program in both case is same.

This happens after a full download
What is the firmware of your Minder Pro? You can see this from the label on the U1 IC on Minder Pro PCB marked ULT 5.1__ or do a Transfer > System Information on Comfigurator or Mindit
If your firmware is before ULT5.145 you will see this problem, see forum at
http://www.comfortforums.com/forum60/1195.html

Do a firmware Upgrade using the UCM05 if you have one. For Clipsal this is 5352UCM, not 5350UCM See the picture at http://www.cytech.biz/Default.aspx?cmd=ID%2ftW5Xw2bTCO626ZAAInw%3d%3d&productid=126&categoryid=9&pageindex=

You are right. The firmware version is 5.054. It's old.

And regarding UCM05, we don't have its reference in our system in India. So I can't order it. Is there any other way to update firmware? Through 5350UCM?

You can upgrade by getting MPU01 which is a plug in module with new firmware
see the picture and details here
Check with Clipsal if they can order that, otherwise let us know by private message
