I am using comfort with a PABX(NEC XN120) If i use the PABX to access comfort it doesn't detect the * and i get a message from BT saying number not recognised.
The line wiring is BB Filter>Line In then Line Out>PABX.
If I use a normal phone connected to line out it I can sign in and if I phone in I hear the Answer message and can sign in. There is nothing in the phones manual about the * having a function once you have an outside line.
I don't really want to connect comfort as an extension.
Board is comfort Ultra II FW 5.121.
Has anyone used comfort with a XN120 or have any suggestions?

First change the polarity of the telephone wires into Comfort TEL IN - you can just plug in the terminal block in reverse. Sometimes the polarity revseral can have an effect of sensitivity
if that does not help, try changing the Tuning Parameter 83 (AFE Line IN Gain Local Phone) in Configuration. The range is from 0 to 20 with larger numbers giving higher gain- default is 4. Change the value lower or higher one or step at a time in either direction and selectively download - mo reset required. The PABX may be attenuating or amplifying the the * DTMF tone

I have changed the polarity on the line in. the * now works but it will not accept the code (1234) all i get is wrong code no matter which user i try. it works on the test phone.
Tweaked 83 down to 5 from 6(not 4??) and it works.
I would be lost with out this forum!!

Same system similar problem. The local phones aren't ringing when The doorbell is pressed. the rely in comfort is clicking. could it be the Phone system not detecting the ring signal from COmfort?
Thnks

Can you check if you connect a normal phone to Comfort if it rings? If it does not it may be a problem with the RGR04 or the connections

That shows the RGR04 is working
Check the jumper settings on the Ringer module shown in the RGR04 Manual at http://www.cytech.biz/Downloads/Files/200/rgr04man.pdf
Try the larger ring amplitude and different frequency.
Otherwise check that the ringing signal (about 50V RMS) is getting through to the PABX line

I have finally had a chance to look at this issue again.
I have tried all the different combinations of the jumpers. I have tried reversing the polarity of the Line in/Out and there is 50v RMS at the PABX when i press the doorbell.
Still no go.
Any other ideas? Has any body else used a NEC PABX with comfort?

Found a setting in the program for the PABX (page 14-02) that sets the incoming trunk to immediately ring. This has got it working! Yipee

I knew if you were left to it, you would find a solution

Next problem. the sign in works fine on the local telephone as long as you don't go to fast. pressing 6 always works for doorstation but then the 4 to open gate, doesn't always work the first time and sometimes you have to press 3 times. it behaves the same from a mobile. i have changed tuning param 83 but it either still does it or stops detecting the login. i have tried changing 45 but nothing changed. I can't see anything on the phone system that would relate.
What other tuning parameters can i try?

We have found that the keys 1,4, 7, and * ie all the keys on the left have larger amplitudes compared to other keys. This is why we use 4 for Gate and 7 for Door station. In the case of local phones, the default for Tuning Parameter 83 (AFE Line Gain Local Phone) of 4 is usually too high resulting in saturation of the signal. Reducing it to 3 or 2 should solve the problem. This is a case when the gain for the local phone is too high due to the short distance of the phone from Comfort compared to a remote phone
The parameter for Mobile phone is 88 (AFE Line gain for Remote Phone)
Now this may be too high OR too low in your case. I suggest adjusting it either way and see the result

I took 83 down to 1 with no change. higher than 5 and it stopped working. Will try 88. It does work sometimes on the first press but usually it is the second press on both the local and remote phones.

Are you sure you managed to reduce 83 to 1? Comfigurator limits you to 2 as minimum. Unless you used Location to change it?

Could it be the PABX again messiing the with DTMF tones?
did you try connecting the local phone direct to TEL OUT to see if there is a difference
Otherwise it should be a matter of sensitivity
How about parameter 88 for remote phones Did you adjust it through the range of numbers?
