You should be able to test by upgrading with the 5.300 firmware again. The upgrading process does not require that you must always UPgrade to a higher version.
In fact you could even downgrade to a previous version which does not support self-upgrading feature

UCM, Comfort and other modules firmware with version 6 and above can now be upgraded using Comfigurator, see http://www.comfortforums.com/forum92/3400.html
