The response that is activated when a mode is armed, before it was done as soon as the keyboard button was pressed and now it waits approximately the delay time to activate them.
The Away Mode response is always activated when the system arms to Away Mode, not when you press the button. That is regardless of the firmware version.
If you want a response to run immediate when you press the Away btton then use the Start Arming Response in Misc Events. This has not changed since the beginning
