I too don't have a virtual down arrow so in all apps I have to press the back button of the phone to get rid of the keyboard

Just try pressing the back button of the **phone** once.. That should get rid of the keyboard I too don't have a virtual down arrow so in all apps I have to press the back button of the phone to get rid of the keyboard
