I am currently having an upgrade session on my Comfort - for too long I have contemplated getting a UCM/GSM4. Every time I look at the festoon of telecom cables within easy reach I think I must get on with it... A quick google around and I find articles telling me that 3G is likely to go before 2G https://www.mobileworldlive.com/featured-content/top-three/operators-vendors-forecast-long-life-2g/ With 2G more likely to exist/continue in the rural areas. I am in a semi urban area so I find myself wondering whether buying a UCM/GSM4(2G) unit will be a false economy. Also I have no idea whether it will work until I plug it in and put a SIM in it. ie will the local site - most likely EE - still be working on 2G? Questions: What are the thoughts of others? Where can I get a unit from (UK stockists are slow to respond)? Can I buy the 3G daughterboard separately? Is there a 4G version in the pipeline? Thank you
