Thanks for the response. yes, I have a backup battery. I had to remove the main fuse as well as the battery lead to reset the system. If there is a time delay for the resettable fuse to kick back in, I haven't found what it is (took 5 mins from removing the short to finding the method for resetting the syem). What is the expected impact to the keypads as that is really where I saw the issue play out? Could it be that the main board was actually running and just waiting to return to a normal state? I will test this again today to ensure it is not just a misunderstanding of the system reaction.
