The status bar is actually not grayed out. It looks like the comfigurator window is positioned too low on the screen so the bottom line is blocked by the windows 7 taskbar which has the effect of blurring the hidden area

Move the comfigurator window higher or expand to full screen to see the status bar and the status field

From the photo BUSY1 and BUSY2 are both on. This should mean that the SIM Card is not detected. Hence your reported status should show "No SIM Card"

If the SIM Card was working before and you have changed the GSM Module, it could be that the SIM Card contacts are dirty and cannot make contact

Another reason could be the SIM is prepaid and has expired?
