Another factor with using KP04 LCD keypad with Comfort I is that the KP04 wordlist is programmed in the EEPROM (nonvolatile memory) in U9.
The wordlist for Comfort II is different from the wordlist in Comfort I so a KP04 connected to Comfort I would display the wrong words for zones and alarms
To download the correct wordlist into KP04, the LCD Keypad Language customisation software (available from our website http://www.cytech.biz/software.html)  can be used. The LCD Keypad Language Customisation software requires UCM01 (5.72 and above). Instructions are found in the KP04 Manual (available from website http://www.cytech.biz/manials.html)

You may also request a programmed U9 from your Comfort distributor which has the old wordlist if you are using the KP04 on a Comfort I system. This U9 can be plugged into the IC socket on KP04 replacing the standard U9 supplied

For Comfort II systems the Language Customsation software is not needed if your KP04 firmware is 1.03 and above. The keypad will compare the wordlist in Comfort II and if there is a mismatch, it will display "Press *1 to sync". People have found this instruction difficult  to understand. Just press * and 1 together, and the text download will start.   To find out the KP04 firmware, remove the KA/KB terminal block, then remove and re-apply power (12V/GND terminal block) to the KP04.
