Today I tried to upgrade my UCM-ETH 6.002 using the "direct to PC". My UCM is connected to the house wired intranet using a fixed IP address and port number 1002. (It is the second UCM-ETH on the system). The progress box appeared, but no progress. Then it reported a communication failure. That failure persisted and was reported on all the keypads. I tried again after a short break (as per instructions ), but same response. Further attempts without powering down or resetting achieved the same result. Powering down, resetting, etc. did not resolve the issue. Finally I retrieved my other UCM-Serial and did the upgrade with the programming cable.

Clearly I would prefer to rely on the new upgrade methods which avoid opening up units etc. So I would like to resolve this problem.

Some questions:

The UCM-ETH ID is set at 3. Must it be set at 1?

The ETH connection is via the home CAT5 100 mbs cabled network. Are there any issues here (timeout settings?)

Any Norton Anti-Virus issues known of?

Thanks in advance.
