So are the UCM/232, UCM/USB and USB/Ethernet devices only usable with Comfigurator?

With regard to the "comfortprotocol.pdf" document which type of UCM does this relate to (the UCM/232, UCM/USB and USB/Ethernet or just the UCM/Universal)?
