Unknown GSM Module
#1
Hello,
For several days I have encountered a problem. I no longer receive text messages. If I still send an arming order by SMS, nothing happens. I presice that my system is working perfectly through the application.
So I am going back to comfigurator. I updated the whole installation but still nothing. I also tried with a second sim card. In the status bar it appears \"Unknown GSM Module\".

Can you help me solve my problem?

Unknown GSM Module means that the GSM Module is having diffculty connecting to the network provider.
Try powering off the module.

What is the serial number?

Hello,

I confirmed that I had tried to turn the system off and back on. I changed my SIM card from another provider. No change while my phones are picking up correctly. the serial numbers are P081808 and P081820

This is a 2G GSM Module UCM/GSM4(2G) sold in 2013.

Many countries have stopped supporting the 2G network. It may also depend on the network provider. Have you upgraded the gsm submodule to 3G?

Hello,

According to my research, the 2G services of my provider are still active but without certainty. What is the procedure to update my module?

Hello,

I finally have an answer from my supplier who assures me that 2G is still active until the end of this year. I plan to change my module in anticipation but where could my worries come from if 2G is active? I would like to be sure before. Thank you

You can buy the UCM/GSM 3G which will work on 3G networks. Check that your home is supported by 3G

Hello,

But if it\'s not a 2G problem why buying a 3G card will solve my problem?

Should I buy a complete module? https://www.cytech.biz/gsm_interface_3g.html

or only this part? https://www.cytech.biz/gsm43g_submodule.html

iF it is not a 2G problem, it may be some fault with the module, the 2G submodule or the UCM. You could but just the 3G submodule, and if that has a rpoblem, get the UCM/GSM base board separately
