Detecting Arming or Away/Vacation Mode when arming Comfort
#1
Hey folks,

I\'m just tinkering with how my external lights are controlled by Comfort.

When I arm Comfort into Away or Vacation mode I have a Zones/Inputs response for my front door closing, where my front door is flagged as \"Entry\" and the \"Final Door\" on \"Away Arming Method\".

In this front door closing response I want to detect what mode Comfort is in at this response execution point so I can tell when I\'m leaving the house (ie arming the system) or when we\'re remaining in SecurityMode = SecurityOff and staying indoors (ie NOT arming the system).

In the If conditions there is an \"Away or Vacation Mode\" attribute which I can use in a \"AwayHoliday <> 0\" condition. I think this means if the security mode is presently set to Away or Holiday? I am wondering if it would be too early to test SecurityMode when I\'m executing the Zones/Inputs response for my front door closing and potentially arming the system?

There is also an \"Arming & Disarming\" attribute I can choose. I think this can mean while we\'re in the arming process, possibly when SecurityMode = SecurityOFF and we\'ve not yet moved to Away or Vacation mode? I assume that using this attribute in a condition of \"Arming <> 0\" means we are in the ARMING state if SecurityMode = SecurityOFF?

Any particular suggestions for detecting when I\'m arming the system during that \"final door\" phase?

There is an attribute for \"Security Mode\" so you can test for any of them
The security mode is set at the point of starting to arm so that this can be tested

There is also attribute for \"arming and Disarming\" that is true if the system is arming and disarming

Excellent, that sounds like just the confirmation I needed. Thought there was a possibility the security mode wouldn\'t change until arming was completed, but that confirms otherwise.

Thanks, slychiu.

I am also learning the security systems and the automation, that how i could use them in my daily life.
I want to know about the comfort. What it is and how i could use it for my applications.
What are the other hardware components that could be interfaced with it?
