Lost access to Home Control Menu
#1
I\'ve recently lost access to the Home control menu.

I have a Comfort 1 and am using Comfiurator 2.1.2

I recently redid my ccl file completely and everything was OK. I could access the HC menu from the kepad either by F2 or by entering my sign in code and then option 4.

I could also access via an external phone - which is what I want to do.

I\'m normally good at backing up the ccl but I\'ve made a couple of minor changes without backing up and access via my sign in code (and my partners) has dissappeared both from the keypad and via dial in.

I can still acees via F2.

What have I done?

Can anybody suggest a solution?

If Control Key 1 is not programmed, the User Menu 4 (for Home Control) will not be announced. Is that what you might have missed out?

Nope that is programmed.

Yesterday I unticked the option in Sing in codes, downloaded then reticked and downloaded.

I checked via the keypad and the option had returned.

Today whilst driving home I dialled in and the option wasn\'t there. When I got home I checked via the keypad and it is gone again.

I haven\'t touched any options since it was working.

Are you referring to the same problem of Home control menu missing, or are you talking about a completely new problem

What sign in codes do you mean, Security > Sign in codes for users or Control Menu > Need Code?

Yes it is the same problem.

I am referring to the Security sign in codes.

I played a little more yesterday. The option is not announced by the system, 4 for Home Control, but works if 4 is pressed. I tried this with the alarm in Security off mode via a kepad and an internal phone. I will try via an external phone later today.

Did this problem only happen when you unchecked the Home Control checkbox in the Security > Sign in codes screen? This will prevent the user from accessing the Home control menu.
When you say \"the option is gone\" did you mean the Home control menu cannot be heard or the Sign in codes option is gone.
Can you describe precisely what you have done?

To recap;

Option 4, HC menu, was being announced and working.

I made some small changes to the CCL file. I then noticed that option 4 was not being announced.

I unchecked the Home Control checkbox in the Security > Sign in codes screen, downloaded and then rechecked and downlaoded again.

Option 4 was again being announced and working.

Overnight option 4 stopped being announced with no further changes to the CCL. I have noticed that although it is not announced it works if 4 is pressed at the appropriate time.

Is that helpful?

Ian,

I have gone through the file that you have sent to Chiu, and the problem lies in what I had suggested earlier about Control Key 1.

Control Key 1 was not programmed. If you expand your Control Group 0, you will find that Control Key 1 was not programmed. When I added in an item to Control Key 1 (of Control Group 0), the \"Press 4 for Home Control\" was restored. Perhaps you could switch around the order of the groups, e.g. setting \"Event\" or \"Lights\" as your group 0. This should solve the problem. Could this be the \"small change\" that you made to your ccl file?? Wink

Cheers

I seem to have misunderstood!

I have made changes and it now seems to work fine.

What an interesting \'feature\'!!
