In the Control Menu I would like for the user to be able to hear the status of a zone (in this case, whether the front entry gate is open or closed).
Presently I am using the Announce action. However, it does not actually make the announcement (\"Gate Open\" or \"Gate Close\") until you exit out of the Control Menu.

announcements only work when the keypad is not in a voice menu. Keypad in voice menu are already \"announcing\" their menus. Thus the zone announcements can only be heard after exiting from the menu
If you want to hear the zone status in the Control menu, you have to create a Control key eg \"Front Gate\" and set the Feedback Type as Zone and enter the zone number of the zone to monitor
This allows you to use keypad, phone, iPhone/ipad/android app or comfigurator to check the state of the zone

Thanks...tried that and it now says \"Entry Gate is\"...does not say whether it is \"on\" or \"off\" or better \"open\" or \"closed\"?

I forgot to say that you need to enter words for 0 and 1 in action keys
Eg 0 for closed
1 for open
The state off announces the word for action 0
And state On announces the word for action 1

Great...that worked!
Another question. Can you change door station announcement. Presently when you answer the phone (after the door station button has been pressed) it says something like Door Station 1 or Door Station 2.

The door station announcement is fixed, ie door station 1 or 2 so that you know which door station is calling
Hoever you can play a recorded reminder message on the keypad or dooor station using the action \"Play Reminder Message on keypad/doorstation\"
