I\'ve discussed this in the doorstation troubleshooting area of the forum, and thought I would post my feature request here as well.
I would like a change to the doorstation dial out process so that Comfort does not instantly connect the dialled phone for two way conversation with the doorstation.
My Comfort doorstation is configured to dial out to my mobile phone and the problem I have is that I may not be able to answer my mobile phone (because of being out of range, on another call, in a meeting etc). If I don\'t answer my mobile phone, my voicemail message is heard at the doorstation by the house caller. I primarily use my mobile phone for business and my voicemail is a business greeting (unconnected to my residential address) and includes details of my availability which may be useful information for potential burglars! I also think if a house caller is asked to leave a voice message at the doorstation it gives a definite impression that the house is vacant and therefore a security risk, whereas an unanswered doorbell does not necessarily mean the house is unoccupied.
Current process:
When the bell button is pressed on the the doorstation, Comfort dials the programmed telephone number and on answer instantly connects the doorstation to the telephone line for two way conversation.
Proposed new process:
When the bell button is pressed on the doorstation, Comfort dials the programmed telephone number and on answer asks the caller to press \"0\" on their phone keypad if they want to be connected to the doorstation. If the caller presses \"0\" then Comfort connects the caller to the doorstation for two way conversation. If \"0\" is not received by Comfort then the call is ceased and the house caller is left with the impression that the door bell has not been responded to.
I understand that some Comfort users may want instant connection between the doorstation and the dialled phone, so perhaps there could be a setting within Comfort to specify whether instant connection or connect only when dtmf \"0\" is received?
Any thoughts from the forum community?
Thanks
