- ekarak - 07-14-2012 This client\'s system is haunted by no doubt!! after the firmware upgrade problem, here\'s another one: After a reported lightning strike in May, the client told me he had no phone line in his house. The telecom company reset the line (probably took some damage there too), and they told me that its now OK. I had the line in/out terminals disconnected from Comfort and connected the clients telephone directly to the phone line. Comfort then used its GSM module for reporting, as expected, and ran out of units today during testing. So, I brought along a new analog board for the master panel. It seems that the old analog board and the new one behave exactly the same: When I connect the phone line and phone terminals to Comfort, and initiate a dial test, I hear the dial tone from the land line, but no DTMF dialout occurs. Then, comfort tries to use the GSM line for CMS reporting, but I get the telco\'s message about no units available on the SIM card. The weird thing is that I thought the relay took the hit and switching boards would fix the problem. It seems as a fault in the DTMF generator. Is it not located on the analog board? Thanks in advance, - slychiu - 07-14-2012 The DTMF generation is on the analog board A possibility is that one of the pins the CPU board may have been damaged as well from the lightning strike so preventing the command to send DTMF from going to the DSP Are you able to try a new CPU side ? Did you try to disable Dial Tone detection? - ekarak - 07-14-2012 Dial Tone detection is disabled by default (in Greece the dialtone is not continuous). No I don\'t have a spare CPU master board. Could this be a vocabulary/language issue? the new board needs flashing for the Greek language... - slychiu - 07-14-2012 No, Language is not related to the dialing functions - ekarak - 07-14-2012 OK, so how can I get Comfort to report its internal status (or error codes) when doing a dial test ? - slychiu - 07-14-2012 There is no error reporting of that kind available. I suggest you connect the Comfort to another telephone line and do a dial test. That should confirm if the board has been damaged or if there is another problem with the line etc - ekarak - 07-14-2012 OK, the only thing I can think of for testing in this situation, is a SIP ATA (VoIP terminal) with FXS/FXO ports so as to emulate a second telephone line via the DSL connection. I\'ll keep you informed. - ekarak - 08-17-2012 Update: I had assigned Phone On & Off-hook events to empty \"placeholder\" responses so as to provide courtesy lighting near the telephone (makes a nice touch of home automation when a light comes on when somebody picks up the phone!) Today I set these events to 0 (NullResponse) and the problem went away! This problem didn\'t manifest itself for some reason until last April... - ident - 08-18-2012 Is this the same system as the file panormosComfort cclx file? The Phone onhook and Offhook Responses are set to a Response with no actions If not can you send the file? We would like to duplicate this and see what caused the problem - ekarak - 08-18-2012 Yes its the same system. |
