Currently my system has siren type 20 set to "unassigned"
When I create a simple response: 64,20, 255

I get a 'cascading audio'. This sound quite suits my needs for the alert I wish to have as a zone response.
BUT
If I try and give siren type 20 a name and choose a sound type from the dropdown menu I lose the 'cascading audio' sound and cannot work out how get it back.

I notice here:
http://www.comfortforums.com/forum92/4291.html
You state there are 31 siren types. I can only see 20 siren types in my version of Comfigurator. (3.11.13.0) Attached gives details of system

Please can you help me understand what's going on.

Thanks
Steve

perhaps you can get it back by opening a new file and doing selective write for siren types and sound types tghen 64, 20 may work again

There are 20 siren types. The writer mixed up with Alarm Types of whichj there are 31
This link has been corrected. Thanks for the info

Thank you for the speedy response.
Yes I had worked out I could do a selective write.
BUT
I was rather hoping to learn a bit more about how I could modify sounds to suit my needs.
and 20, which is not used for any "critical' purpose looked like an ideal candidate.
Is there a post anywhere which goes into detail on this subject.

If ytou want to create your own sounds you have to edit Sound Types in Security  Types > Sound types

Each Siren Type calls a Sound Type
However there are no instructions to manipulate these sound types

you can choose a sound to be sweeping frequency, alternating between 2 tones and choose the high and low frequecny

For the on ethat you like it should be a sweeping frequency type but I am afriad I have no idea how that particular sound is generatyed
