The UCM/velbus has been released for testing by selected installers.
The UCM/Velbus manual is still being prepared. In the meantime this topic will provide a tutorial for the configuration of the UCM/Velbus
Set the ID shunts (SW7) on the UCM/velbus to 2 or higher, depending on the other UCMs connected to Comfort. If there are no other UCMms connected besides the UCM/USB, UCM/232 or Ethernet, set the ID=2
Run Comfigurator 3.18 or above.
You need UCM 5.168 or above to use with Comfigurator for Velbus. Use another UCM/232, USB or Ethernet to upgrade the UCM firmware
Comfort firmware should be 5.150 and above (upgrade to the latest firmware using UCM/232, Ethernet or USB)
Go to the Modules Tab
Right Click on UCMs and select Scan for UCMs as shown in the screenshot below

The Scan result should show UCM/Velbus at ID=2 and other UCMs if connected
Note how the Firmware version of the UCMs are shown. The UCM/Velbus firmware is 5.205 in this case
There are 2 other "General" UCMs at IDs 3 and 4 but their firmware is not shown because their firmware is an older version < 5.168 which does not support this feature

select UCM02 on the left pane. The velbus Configuration screen will be shown on the right, with Tabs UCM/velbus Properties, Velbus to Comfort and Monitor Mode along the top.
Below that, the UCM Properties window shows the UCM ID of 2, Name (UCM02), Type (Velbus) and Version (5.205)
In UCM/Velbus Properties is the field "Send Date/Time to Velbus" If enabled this allows Comfort time to be sent to the Velbus to be displayed on a Velbus LCD.

Click the "Velbus to Comfort" Tab. The screen shows a blank list of Velbus modules. There are 2 options; Add Module, and Learn.
Add Module means to add the Velbus module manually. You must know the Velbus ID and properties which you can look up from the Velbus Link software used to configure the modules. This is not the preferred method. Instead use the LEARN button to automatically learn the Velbus modules in the network.

The result of the Learn operation is shown below (example). Note that the Comfort counters have been assigned. After a Learn operation, the Counters will be blank
A list of velbus modules detected in the Velbus system is displayed. On each line, the Velbus Module Type, Address, Channel, and Name are shown.
The right pane shows the individual fields of the selected line.
Assign the Counter or Sensor name to the Velbus module/channel
When the velbus button corresponding to the Module ID and channel is pressed, the assigned counter or Sensor will be updated with the value 0 to 255 where 0 if OFF, 255 is ON and 1 to 254 are dimming levels if applicable. This allows the Control Menu to announce the status of the Velbus device using Counters (or Sensors) as feedback.
Also when the velbus button is pressed, the Counter Response associated with the assigned counter is activated. This allows velbus buttons to activate Comfort Responses to control any function on Comfort or to control any device connected to Comfort.

The tabs WRITE to EEPROM, READ from EEPROM and RESET to default are tabs along the top of the velbus configuration screen.
WRITE TO EEPROM writes the Velbus configuration to the EEPROM (U2) on the UCM/Velbus. Use this to save the configuration after Learning and assigning the Counters or Sensors to the required Velbus devices.
It is important to remember to WRITE TO EEPROM. Transfer > Write to Comfort writes the Comfort configuration to Comfort's U4 EEPROM, but Velbus WRITE to EEPROM writes to the EEPROM in UCM/Velbus.
READ from EEPROM reads the velbus configuration from the UCM/Velbus EEPROM and populates the Velbus configuration screen.
Reset to Default erases all the information in the Velbus configuration screen. However it does not save to EEPROM. Remember to WRITE to EEPROM if you wish to erase the velbus configuration in the UCM/velbus

Warning in Firmware 5.205 - If you ADD Velbus modules manually, and then do a LEARN from Velbus but no modules are discovered, the data in the EEPROM will be read back to the screen. The data is not erased so you may think that what you wrote to EEPROM before is what was learned. This is misleading.
This is one of the reasons why you should do a Learn operation instead of adding modules manually.
The next UCM/velbus firmware version will blank the Velbus to Comfort Screen if no modules are discovered
