We want to use Comfort in a block of apartments. Each apartment must have it's own Comfort system but they will need to share the door phone between all the systems. Can Comfort do this?

Comfort door station can only work as 1 to 1, not as a common door station for the whole block
Depending on the number of apartments you may be able to customise a faceplate with several door stations

Hi there.
Looking at above....I'd like to do the following...
Install 2x door stations, but need them to ring/connect to 2x different keypads.
Is this possible?

No you cannot have different door stations ringing 2 keypads

Each system can have up to 3 door sttaions
each door station will ring all the phones and keypads in the  house

What is it you are trying to  configure>

Hi Chiu.
I'm planning on installing a Comfort system with the doorstation options.
However, there will be 1 or 2 keypads in the main house...but I also have a cottage.....
So figuring to install 2x doorstations at the gate...so that the house can be rung and also the cottage separately.

Clint.

Hmm I cannot think of a good way to achieve that, except for having 2 separate systems in the house and cottage. That would seem to be the best way

Hi Chiu.

Really not what I had in mind...
Then rather opt to have an alternative 2nd intercom system for cottage.

However......would it be possible to block calls to certain keypads?
Wouldn't want the cottage keypad to ring when visitor intents to speak to me/house keypads.

Clint.

It is not possible to restrict the door station ringing on certain keypads. However you can turn off announcements on the keypad so that any announcements including the doorbell chime is not heard on the keypad

I spoke too soon
We are going to roll out a new feature in Comfort that will be very suitable for your house with separate cottage - this is the ability to split up the zones and keypads into up to 4 partitions. Each partition acts as a separate alarm system with its own entry and exit paths.

We were not considering door stations as part of the partitions, but it looks like it may be possible to do this (but at a later stage)

The keypads must be the KP04A, KP06A or KT03, Older models will not be able to work in this way so you can start by buying a new system with the new keypads

Hi Chiu.

This is great news.
Glad to hear the system will be utilizing partitioning as well.
I always used to work with systems that supported this.
Didn't know Comfort did NOT support this.
Looking forward to these new features.

Clint.

Partitions are very common for most Intruder Alarm Systems but it has been difficult for Comfort because of the voice on Keypad. We have finally figured out how to accomplish this. It should be a useful feature for offices, residences with a separate area/entranceetc
