Siren  Output
Alternate Siren output port on the CPU does not turn on at reset. This requires modified Comfort PCB.

Can you explain "This requires modified Comfort PCB", please?
Thanks.

You may know that when Comfort is powered on the siren sounds for a few seconds.

There will be a hardware modification on new Comfort PCBs in which the Siren output will not turn on when Comfort is powered on.  This firmware caters for both modified and unmodified hardware. In the unmodified hardware (ie what you have now) the siren will still turn on at power on.

Would this be for the flashing strobe also?

Can the modification be done by a user or would it be 'factory only' type mods?

Are the two different options selectable in software? If I make the modification and the client later changes his mind and want it back on, can it be done?

No. This change is for the Siren only. The stobbe flashing at when the power is turned  is not as bothersome as the siren. The modification is best done in the factory as an incorrect modification may cause a fault
