Would it be possible to control the keypad back light with a Comfort response. I would like to link the back light to a PIR so when a user passes the keypad lights up. This would save the user needing to push a button to check the time etc when "always on" is not desirable. It may also be the in night the keypads are lit and in the day they are not.

I second that. Perhaps even use a PWM signal to set the backlight brightness between 0 and 255.
And while you are at it, give the user an option between 12H and 24H modes.

perhaps an action can be added to control backlight
For AM/PM, this selection is possible on KP06, not KP04
Kp04 is not firmware prgrammable so that cannot be changed annyway

Perhaps a future version of the KP04 controller chip as the embedded firmware surely is updatable at the time of manufacturing? Unless you bought a gazillion chips all preprogrammed :-)

Thanks, I would buy a few new KP04's when available, they are rock-solid and work perfectly.

Note that you do not need the KP06 to work with action 156. That action will work for all keypads
Kp06 already has the setting for AM/PM or 24 hours display in settings
But I dont think allowing variable dimness of the backlight will be considered in KP06 or KP04, as there will be too much work for insufficient benefits

Any chance of adding a proximity sensor to the future version? This might result in less code to handle the back light from installers
