I have a CWM connected to my LAN and Comfort system.

It is configured with a PRIVATE IP - 192.168.10.8.

I have changed the PORT to 81.

My LAN/WAN config is as follows:

ISP CABLE MODEM providing STATIC IP.

Connected to the MODEM is a STATEFUL PACKET INSPECTION Firewall.

I have created a firewall SERVICE called Comfort using TCP on PORT 81.

I have created a firewall RULE which ALLOWS WAN to LAN traffic using the COMFORT service to the LAN IP address 192.168.10.8 (in effect this is a PORT FORWARD).

WHAT HAPPENS

When I try to access the CWM from the WAN . E.g. putting the following in browser using http '<public ip>:81', nothing happens.

Notes:

I can TELNET - E.g TELNET <public ip> 81, this connects without error.

I can also see this CONNECTION in the firewall connections monitor clearly showing a connection from a WAN IP address to the LAN ADDRESS and PORT, there is also traffic indicated on TX and RX.

Why does the CWM Web interface not work ?

Are you able to access the CWM from LAN?

Maybe you can disable the firewall to test if it is causing the problem. ;)

I solved this. The firewall in question performs Anti Virus Protection based on a small client install. If the client is not present http is dropped.

I have excluded the CWM from AV and can now access from the internet.
