The main board is a Comfort I Ultra - Action 4.233 (PC 01-001E - RevE)

- There is no (5 way) J54 on the main board - just a (5 way) J23 open

- Therefore I can not connect the GSM J3 to J54 Main board. As explained in the installation instructions this is for the voice connection.

a. Is there any other way of getting the voice function to work?

b. What does the J23 on the main board do\what's it for? - can not find it in any documentation? - It’s the only open 5 way connector on the main board. I don't want to risk any damage trying to see if it will get the voice function to work.

c. sms working 100%

d. If line is cut or disconnected for lightning protection the GSM calls on cell’s and obviously no voice would like to fix problem - ? upgrade board to Ultra II?

The J23 header on Comfort I is the equivalent of  J54 on Comfort II
Plug in the cable from GSM J3 to J23 on Comfort

Thank you - voice working 100%

Is it possible stop using normal telephone line (severe thunder storms & lightning - to reduce risk of lightning damage to Comfort) and just use the GSM\UCM as primary line and to keep the telephone hand sets in the house connected to the comfort? Thus: incoming call via GSM ---> Comform (all functions eg answering) ---> handsets in home. Reverse for outgoing calls via GSM.

Thats not possible with the UCM/GSM, although if you disconnect the telephone line Comfort will know and will use the GSM to dial all your programmed phone numbers

Perhaps it may be a good feature for the future

The manual version 1.0.7 has been updated - it will mention J23 to be used for Comfort I

Customer asks if UCM/GSM may be mounted at a distance 50m or so away from CP9000.
Any concerns if we run 5-way voice cable (connect J3 on the UCM/GSM to J54 (GSM) on Comfort II via the 5-way cable provided.)
for that distance, say with standard UTP cable?

Regards, Rolan

If you want to extend the voice via the 5 way cable, you should use the new ADM Auxilliary Distribution Module which is going to be released. This has a 5 way connector for the GSM audio which cxan be used to extend the distance. We wil release details next week

See the new ADM02 at http://www.comfortforums.com/view_topic.php?id=1615&forum_id=48

This allows the UCM/GSM2 module to be located far from Comfort
