Comfort Installers

Hi,
I would like to know the best way to control Homeeasy RF devices (sold by B&Q) by Comfort.
Is there a way that comfort can learn RF signals and transmit them much like you can with the RIO for IR? That would probably be the most efficient way.
Alternatively, there is an RF transmitter by RFXCOM that can be controlled by Homeseer which can be controlled by Comfort via UCM Ethernet using the Homeseer Comfort plug in. But that would require a PC. And it seems a very round about way to me.
I was considering CBUS wireless, but if above can work, the cost of a cheap PC would still work out to be much less than CBUS wireless switches. Homeeasy is also cheaper than X10.

You should read this thread - same question I've asked
http://comfortforums.com/forum47/1758.html
HomeEasy (and the other RF based units) would appear to be a better solution that X10 , which is very prone to line issues, and ZWave has a serious flaw in it's protocol.
As you say, the units are cheap too and plentiful. Consumers are more likely to enter into the automation market with the HomeEasy type devices than any other.

With 2 stop bits ? If so, is this a firmware update ? Last edited on Sunday Feb 28th, 2010 04:39 am by palmlodge

Interesting - so your new firmware will handle this extra 'pause' ?
Would Cytech be willing to test this directly first ? A USB + RS232 board from RFXCOM would be 116 Euros

If anyone has these boards and a need for them then we can supply the firmware for testng
The rfx com boards are not sufficient for us to test as we need the Homeeasy kit etc

Did we get anywhere with this ? Will the modified firmware and/or the new U-UCM be able to control 4800bd, 8 bits data, no parity, 2 stop bits ?
I'm keen to expand the 433mhz device network and I need to be able to allow Comfort to control it. The list of devices are :
*
X10 lighting,
*
X10 security,
*
Digimax
*
RFXSensor,
*
RFXPower,
*
RFXMeter,
*
KlikAanKlikUit,

when talking about RS232 stop bit, sometimes we can see 1,1.5,2 stop bits, that means the level of stop bit maintain timing is 1, 1.5 and 2 tims , actually all RS232 stop bit is 1

All technical info has been removed from the RFXCOM site.

If the receiver expects 1 stop bit then 1.5 or 2 stop bits is OK.

I believe RFXCOM are now in discussion with Cytech. IMHO, this "reverse" X10 RF protocol is one of the best - and my whole house is CBUS.

Hi
As you have the RFXCOM interface now, have you had any success in purely sending the commands from the UCM to the HomeEasy devices ?
Thanks

We can send the commands to RFXcom and receive the commands, but still studying how the interface should be handled
