I am trying to do a firmware upgrade on two UCM05's. both are serial.
First i connect the Jumper PP2 on unit to be upgraded then the single plug to pp3.
Connect the two ends to the unit that is connected to comfort. Reset comfort. In comfigurator do a system info (which works) then transfer> firmware dwnld. select file UCM5_159.cbf.
Confirm the download.
Then I get Ucm regected firmware upgrade every time. I have tried reversing the UCM's but get same message
Both UCM's are 5.154 and comfort Ultra II 5.121.
What am i doing wrong?

It appears you have not done anything wrong. I wonder if the UCM5.159.cbf may be corrupted as the UCM will check that the target firmware is of the same type as the one in the cbf file. We will test the cbf file tomorrow. We did not have time to cover the firmware upgrade procedure in the London Training course two weeks ago unfortunately but it really should be a simple process.
Can you try to upgrade the Ultra firmware to 5.145 which was what was used in the training rigs on the course, I have sent a separate email with details. This will establish that the upgrading process is working

The problem appears to be that using UCM 5.154 for the firmware upgrade, the UCM expects a login before the firmware upgrade is accepted. Hence if such a problem is encountered, login manually using the Monitor I/O screen by entering LIxxxx where xxxx represents the user code. This logs in the UCM and allows the firmware upgrade to proceed, This would obviously cause a problem when upgrading Comfort firmware because when Comfort firmware is being upgraded, it is not running and is not able to reply to the login. From UCM 5.156 onwards the firmware upgrade does not need a login to Comfort, and thus is more easily able to upgrade firnware
