I have:

1x Ultra II panel.

1x Serial UCM (ID 1)

1x LCD Keypad (ID 1)

I have used Comfigurator 2.1.0 (cannot login with later versions)

Created empty program with 1 Keypad and 1 UCM and dowloaded.

Following download, after 1 minute keypad beeps and indicates Keypad 1 communication problem. The keys work for a few presses then stop.

I have reviewed the manuals and checked my connections but cannot stop the error.

Any help welcome.

The keypad beeps because it is not seeing any communications from Comfort
There is sound and display on the keypad so this means that the 12V and grpund wires ate connected.
The possibilities are that
1) the KAKB wires connection is bad, perhaps internaly shorted or open circuit
2) the KA/KB wires are reversed
3) the keypad Rs485 driver is faulty

If you have verified that (1) and (2) are not the cause, please ask for a replacement from your supplier.
Remember that checking connectiivity end to end may be be enough. There may be internal shorts between wires which are not affected by a continutity check from end to end of a wire

Thanks for your help today it was excellent.

For info. The are 4 shunts on the LCD Keypad.

I had correctly shunted ABC for address 1, but I had removed the shunt from D.

It is required.

The KP04 manual does state that, but we have modified it to include shunt D in the table so there is less chance of a mistake in future
Also it describes the changes in the KP04 firmware, download from
