Hi chaps,

During a current upgrade I have swapped over the main Comfort PCB.

Before the swap I had2 keypads a KP06 (ID1) and a KP04 (ID2). Both are physically wired to the same connector block.

After power on and write config to Comfort, all UCMs are OK and so is Keypad 1 but it says it cant find Keypad 2 on scan.

Physically looking at the Keypad it is powered on and the LCD shows messages OK. Try to sign in on it and it bleeps as code is entered but after that is silent. I'm guessing because the # of KP's is 1 in config.

Well I cant change this unless the scan finds it as it's greyed out these days.

HELP!!!

I suspect it's due to the way these devices are scanned these days?

Julian

Old keypad firmware cannot be scanned  if they are not polled ie the nmber of keypads is 1 but your keypad ID is 2

The simple way to fix this is to add the keypad manually by right clicking in Keypads (the old way)

Do the same for door station, right click and select Add Door station

This makes the number of keypads =2, and door station =1
write click on keypad or door station and select "write modules to Comfort"
After the write  to Comfort the keypad #2 and door station 1will be able to work

OK. Used this method and the Keypad was found.

Tried same on the DP0X doorstation though and it still says not found. Ideas?

What is the number of door stations in  Modules and Settings
It should be 1 and you must do write to Comfort, after reset the door station wil be polled.

If the door station button still does not work, then either the Door station ID is not 1  or it is faulty

The doorstation was working fine before I swapped around the 2 comfort PCB's between my test and live systems. I only detached the blue connector plugs and have checked wiring and all looks ok.

The number of doorstations is zero and hence the warning on startup. Even if I hack the cclx and set to 1 (tried this) as soon as it scans it sets back to 0 again.

For the time beng can you add door stations to 1 before you write to comfort
It may be the dp firmware problem

Hi Ident

Can you expand?

I set to 1 in the CCLX file and then open Comfigurator and upload the config to Comfort. On reset it then does a scan and sets back to zero.

So not sure what I'm missing.

Regards

Julian

You dont have to hack the cclx file to add door station
After the scanning etc and before you write to comfort each time, On the door station tab, right click and select Add Door station, this adds a door station manually

Then write to comfort

can you capture Moniitor I/O during the scan?

also go to the keypad
enter F06789# wheere 6789 is the engineer code or your own engineer code and  # key
press 741 for locations
enter 1674# for number of door stations
enter 1#
Reset Cmfort
This shouls make your number of door starion to 1 so the door satation should work

Hi Ident,

Perfect; this worked flawlessly. I also did a subsequent write to Comfort, reset and rescan to check it maintained the setting which it does. Fab!

So I guess Catch-22 with the older firmware combined with new scan method.

Incidentally is there a list of all of these location codes published somewhere as I couldn't find.

Regards

Julian

The bottom left of the status bar shows the location used by Comfigurator

Position your cursor to the item eg No of door stations

(1674) = 0 shows the location for no of door stations

Here is the full explanation for scanning of old Keypads and Door stations

Old firmware for keypads and door stations  which do not support the scanning command cannot be discovered by Comfort scanning of they are not polled

for example if the number of keypads is 1 and door stations is 0 in Comfort, and you  connect  keypad # 2 and Door station 1 and do a scan, the scan will not find the new keypad #2 and Door station #1

You need to add the keypad and door station manually by right click eg on Door station and select Add Door station

The door station will appear in gray meaning it status is not known as it has not been scanned yet
Do the same for the old keypad
Then do right click and select Write Modules and settings to Comfort

This will write the number of keypads and door station to Comfort. After this Comfort is reset automatically and the new keypad and door station will work

If you scan for modules again, the new door station will appear in black and status will be "Polled". The firmware version will be Unknown as the old door station does not support the scan commaand

However if you open an existing file  in you have 2 keypads and 1 door stations,  but the Comfort system does not have 2 keypad and 1 door station in memory and then do a scan, the keypad 2 and door station 1 will appear as "Not Found" in red

When you write to Comfort, Comfigurator willl not add the missing or Not found  keypad and door station, so the 2nd KP and 1st DP will not work.

Remember we are talking about old keypads and door stations. New ones will not have this problem

I suspect this is what happened in your (juwi_uk) case

In summary you can handle the old firmware KP and DP if not added to Comfort by doing a manual add KP and DP and Write Modules to Comfort immediately, BEFORE doing a scan which would result in NOT FOUND status
