Hi, I have a client who works overseas, his wife occupied the house here in Bryanston, South Africa. She has passed away and the husband is trying to get things in order, but has no passwords or configuator file. I tried all the defaults to no avail.

The system is linked to a Custom Home Automation System and there is extensive programming on the Cytech eeprom, but as mentioned no configurator file. The Board is a older single piece board Outdoor 1 I think.

Brad Snaith is the distributor here from Home IQ, I spoke to him and he sugested I post this, in the hope of him being able to get some sort of restricted process to rewrite or retreive only the passwords for me.

Can anyone assist?

David Carter

Thanks, I did see this post previously. I do not know the engineer code. I tried entering 6789# and just get a beep. If I press F0 then I get "Please sign in".

If you hear "Please sign in" when you press F0 that means you need to enter a User code to access the F0 key
This has been programmed by the installer

That means you cannot use the method to reset user codes

Try the other method mentioned in the post which requires a UCM with a default eeprom in the U2 socket

By UCM
The UCM contains a default  EEPROM in U2 for Comfort 2 Ultra. This will default the whole configuration, not just the user codes. Press DLOAD button the write the configuration to Comfort. This will take a few minutes with the Busy  leds blinking. When completed, the RDY green led on the UCM will be steady

Ok, but this will then clear all programming, is that correct?

Yes this is the last resort if you have lost all passwords

An alternative is to unplug the U2 EEPROm from its socket and send it to us. We can check the user codes for you
You can use the EEPROM in the UCM to replace the one on Comfort temporaily and reprogram that

That is a good option. I will discuss it with the client. What is the procedure to send you the eeprom?
