I have just fitted an internal speaker to my Comfort II system (across SPK- & 12VF).  Previously I have been alerted to an alarm condition (when in the property) by the alarm from the KP04 keypad but the risk is that someone lowers the volume on it and I don't hear an alarm, hence the installation of the speaker.

I know that I can reduce the speaker volume for Trouble & Information tones by adjusting VR1 (By the way the installation manual wrongly says VR3).

I also want to reduce the volume for Alarms which are at full volume (i.e. not affected by VR1).

If I change the High Level setting in the Siren Types from a Yes to No for the Intruder siren (and any others I want) will this cause the speaker to sound at the reduced (VR1 controlled level) under alarm conditions?  Assuming this works is the volume to the external siren unaffected?

Alternatively can I add an resistor in-line with the speaker (I am using a 16 ohm speaker).

Cheers Ian

The High Level setting in the Siren Type is what determines whether the speaker volume can be reduced using VR1 or if it is full volume which cannot be reduced
