Hi all, i have installed a comfort at a client, and every time we go and check the event log on comfigurator we see that the date and time has reset to 01/01 - 00:00... We set it back to the PC's Date and time, but the next time we return to the site, the date and time seems to have reset itself back to 01/01 - 00:00 each time a user signs in. I have attached the latest event log so that you can see for yourself when the comfort resets its date. Any help?

Do you have a backup battery connected to Comfort?
If not, when the power goes off, then the time and date will reet to the initial value?

In this case it apppears like someone is changing the date and time in the system using the lkeypad menu
You can see that because of the multiple date/time change actions reported in the  log, see below
-------------------------------------------------
01/03  14:50 Sign in - User #, 2
01/03  14:50 Mode Change #Security Off
01/06  00:05 Date / Time Change
01/06  00:05 Date / Time Change
01/12  01:03 Date / Time Change
01/12  01:03 Date / Time Change
...

01/02  00:02 Date / Time Change
01/02  09:18 Sign in - User #, Keypad

----------------------------------------

Do you have another device that changes the time, eg UCM for KNX or Cbus or HDL
These can change Comforts time  if their time changes

If you stil have problems, send your cclx file to support@cytech.biz so we can see the configuration and the other devices in the system

I have seen your ccl file, it seems well written, but unfortunately not a cclx file as you are still using the old Comfigurator 2. The new comfigurator 3 , see http://www.comfortforums.com/forum20/1798.html

The cclx file would have included a record of the Comfort firmware version, the UCM firmware version and the firmware of the other UCM modules as well as the version of Comfigurator used and the last date and time of writing to Comfort. This is very valuable when doing troubleshooting, which is why we recommend everyone to start using Comfigurator 3

We need to know the firmware of Comfort and the UCM/Cbus  used
This is to rule out the possiibility of bugs in old Comfort or UCM/Cbus firmware.

You can prevent the user from changing the date and time, but this means disabling authorisation for User 1 to go into Program Menu which means he will not be able to do other user programming.

There is a UCM/Cbus in the system so that means that Comforts time and the UCM/CBus wil be syncronised. If a Cbus timekeeping device eg CTouch loses its time then that time will be sent to Comfort. This cannot be prevented, perhaps it should be. You will have to investigate if this is happening
Also does the Comfort have its own backup battery?

Hi, sorry for the late reply. The comfort does have its own battery back up, and the user does not have authorisation to access the program menu. I have not been able to get comfigurator 3 to work at the time that we went to the client, but next time that I go i will get the cclx file for you. When we got there we discovered that the keypad was losing coms... what could be the reason for that?

Check for loose wiring from Comfort to the Modules
What is the firmware version of Comfort and the Slaves, and the UCM that you are using?

The firmware versin should be on a label on an Integrated Circuit on the Comfort and Slave modules
On Comfort it should be ULT 5.xxx. On the Slave, SEM 5.xxx. You can see the label in the picture on the centre of the left half of the board

You can also do Transfer > System Information to get the firmware version and other information

alright, thanks...Im heading out to the client today, and will forward all the firmware etc. But, the client is experiencing "communication errors", this is causing false alarms, and they are not able to set the alarm at night. Is there any other reason for this problem other than the loose cabling and battery backup? Because the wiring was perfect the last time i was there and the battery backup is 100%.

Check from the LCD display what the communications failures are, ie which module is causing the comms failure eg Comms failure SEM01 etc then troubleshoot the module connections and settings

Just got back from the client now... Took a screen shot of the firmware etc. transferred from the comfort. Got you a cclx file downloaded from the comfort. And got an event log with everything that happened. The "AC fail" Shown in the log was the client switching off the system because it refused to stop with the communication errors. Notice also in the event log you will see that the UCM of slave 1 failed first... After this, a number of com failures occurred. Another problem that we experienced for the first time today, was the keypad running slower than normal. ie. The voice that normally tells you what is going on (Away mode, day mode, security off) in the keypad was somewhat slowed... From what you see, can you maybe help out with the problems i am experiencing?

The system is Comfort I firmware 4.207 which was produced around April 2004.
Was it installed 5 to 6 years ago, and it just started having the comms failure problems?

The Comms failures come from the Slave #1 (not the UCM of the Slave,as UCMs are separate modules) This module has an inttermittent commmunications failure and restore which is causing this problem

You will need to get a new Slave module. For the tiime being you can swap Slave 2 for 1 (also change the ID to 1) and change the number of Slaves to 1.
The zones on Slave 2 will not inactive

Can you tell me where you bought the Comfort system for and when? You can send a private message
