Hello,

I have just installed a new SEM02-M2 with firmware 5.139 to my ultra II system. I also upgraded the old firmware with a MPU01 to firmware 5.145.

I replaced a SEM02 with the new SEM02-M2. I shorted ID jumper A, B and C so it has ID 33. However the Slave is not detected. I get Communications Error Slave 1 on the keypad and Comm Failure # Slave 1 in the eventlog.

The strange thing is: i have my UCM/GSM module connected to the RS485 connector on the SEM02-M2, and that is communicating without problems with the main panel! So i am sure the KA/KB connections and the Power connections are OK.

An addition after 2 hours: the SEM02-M2 shuts itself down after about 45 minutes; the green LED goes off. When that happens; all RS485 communications beside UCM ID1 is failing (including keypads). I have disconnected KA/KB from the SEM02-M2; that restores the communication again. Obviosly my GSM module has no communication at all as it is connected through the SEM02.

What can be wrong here??

Did you remove the Programming cable after upgrading firmware and remove the PP2, as this will freeze the slave.
If so, it may be faulty, please send a private message to me with your details
