I have just swapped from AOL to BT as my ISP. The BT Home Hub (router) comes with a softphone that either has its own number or acts as an additional DECT phone on the host BT line.
Whenever I use this phone it disables Comfort and when I reset I am told that there is a phone fault.
I presume the problem is related to this being a Broadband phone. Can Comfort be adapted to recognise and work with a combination of hard and soft phones?

Hi Philibo67
I have the same setup with you with Comfort II Ultra and BT home hub (mine is v1.5) and latest softphone and it all works fine in my setup. I dont use the hub phone to make calls but I do use the softphone all the time.
I've not seen any of the issues you are mentioning and mine has been running a year like this.
Regards
Julian

The reason for getting Phone Trouble is when a phone is connected in parallel to TEL IN. When that phone is used ie goes offhook, the voltage on TEL IN will drop below 10V, which is detected and gives this warning. It means that Comfort will not be able to seize the telephone line to dial out in the event of an alarm
I dont know how this BT softphone is connected, but please check the connections
The broadband should be connected before Comfort TEL IN, but any analog phones should be connected to TEL OUT
