Comfort I was phased out in 2005 due to the unavailability of key components like the microprocessor and DSP. This was replaced by Comfort II, the new generation family of products which include Slave Expansion Modules (SEP01-M2), UCM05 (RS232, Ethernet and USB), UCMs for C-Bus, KNX/EIB, Z-Wave, HDL, GSM, CWM02 Webserver etc. To summarise, the benefits of Comfort II over Comfort I include- "Flashable" CPU with upgradable firmware using UCM05 and Comfigurator. Update firmware with the latest features and bug fixes if applicable
- Built in Battery protection if battery voltage drops during extended power failure
- Two way intercom between Keypads and Door Stations, Phone and Keypad or Door station
- If/Then/Else conditional logic and combination logic conditions IF, OR supported (with Comfigurator 3 software)
- Sunrise/Sunset times and automatic Daylight Saving Time changes based on City or Lattitude/Longitude coordinates
- Accurate Real Time Clock (typically 1 minute per month)
- 32 Time Programs, 16 Reminder Messages, 64 Timers in Ultra II
- 600 Alarm Events in Event Log (Ultra II)
- EN50131 Compliance (optional) for Europe
- Electrical isolation of circuit from Earth for better protection from surge voltages (eg induced Lighting)
- VoiceProc/VoicePlay software allows customised wordlists in any language to be developed
- More Support for external interfaces
As there are many thousands of users who have used Comfort I for many years, Cytech would like to give the opportunity and to encourage all Comfort I users to upgrade to Comfort II and keep their systems current as well as allow us to provide better support. Spare parts for Comfort I are limited. We have created Upgrade Packages at very attractive prices. These include the Comfort II PCB with a special mounting plate which allows the Comfort II PCB to mount on the Comfort I enclosure- UPG-PK1 Upgrade Bundle I - CM9000-ULT, KP04, UCM/USB
- UPG-PK2 Upgrade Bundle 2 - CM9000-ULT, KP04, UCM/USB, RGR04, DM02 (DS01 and DS02 not included)
To qualify for the upgrade, details of the Comfort I serial number must be supplied.
