If Cytech are to stay ahead of the home automation game the product needs to continue to evolve.

If Comfigurator is now being split into more of a user section and an Engineer section (I'm all for this) can we start to develop a service and maintenance program to enhance the Engineer side and thus provide added benefit to the installer.

 Here are a few ideas

The light sensor I have already mentioned - we have a simple loop in the code that allerts the service centre (our office) when the light sensor fails (does not turn on and off during te course of a day.

We also add as standard dial outs to te service centre of RS232 faults and low battery.

I would like to see a monitor for all brush motor devices such as washing machines etc this could be achieved by a current sensor and a timer in comfort.

There must be a whole raft of different service items that could be monitored and thus reported on.

.......... any other ideas welcome......

For your suggestion of service and maintenance, there is a Comfigurator template defind34.cct designed for this
The zone types and alarm types are configured  for this purpose as normally open or normally closed types , not for an intruder alarm
The system dials to different groups of numbers depending on the alarm types
There is a customised vocabulary "Engish Industrial"  with a different set of Insudtrial words. Instead of Living room, Dining room etc which are used in the home, there are words like compressor, UPS, booster, booster, exhaust etc see attached cfg file
This wordlist as been designed for industrial monitoring applications especially for monitoring airconditioning in Computer rooms and other industrial facilities
This illustrates the extent that a standard Comfort can be customised for different applications

Tools are available for customisation of wordlists for any application. the VoiceProc software can be downloaded from the website http://www.cytech.biz/software.html for this purpose

Something I would like to have had in Comfort is the ability to define an output which switches state to indicate Comfort is in [walk-]test mode. This could be used to temporarily enable walk-test LED's in PIRs which have these remote switchable. Probably need to be able to define if which way output swings too, as PIR's vary in how the remote walktest LED enable signal is used.

It would be easier to just have a separate Home control menu command to switch on and off the walk test output. Not as convenient, granted\
