This is a poll on the answering machine feature in Comfort
When the product was developed in 1996, the answering machine with 8 mailboxes may have been more useful than it is today. Now, even landlines are becoming obsolete and calls are made to mobile phones rather than to the house phones
Is this a useful feature or should it be removed or the functionality reduced in future versions of the product (to make room for other features)
Please participate in the poll and feel free to add comments in reply

Mobile only option for me please and No Answer phone
That means you would still like to use the answering machine, but only on the GSM?

We don't use the answerphone, we use the one on our dect phones instead.
Removing the answerphone wouldn't bother me as long as remote phone control still remains. If the comfort app gave full control then maybe that's not needed. Occasionally though I can't get the app to connect remotely (ports not being released ?)

It looks lke the answering machine feature is not needed
Another feature that seems to be rarely used is the Reminder messages with schedule
We have 16 reminder messages can can be programmed just like Time programs, so when the appointed day of week and time comes, the keypad and phone will ring, and when the phone or keypad is answered the Recorded reminder message is played
Reminder messages can be assigned to uses mailboxes so only the user can access it, and may be forwarded to the users mobile phone
This seems a bit last century and may be removed in future
However the action to play the Reminder messages on any keypad or door station in a Response may still be useful, eg play greeting message at the door station or play a warning message when movement is detected outside the house or in any zone

I used Reminder messages a while ago but every time I upgrade firmware I have to rerecord them. This made me stop using them as I 'toy around' with firmware a lot.

Upgrade firmware does not delete reminders. You mean upgrade the voice?

I can't remember, now that you mentioned it, it might have been Voice - it was a while ago so never started using it again.

I find the most useful feature to be that you are reminded - immediately - when you enter the house that there is a message waiting. You HAVE to disarm the system - so the reminder can't be missed. I found that messages left on the DECT phone could be easily missed - I feel the answering system on Comfort helps it to stand out from the crowd! I also question this assumption that landlines are disappearing at the rate many people suggest. In Australia, a landline that is converted to VoIP loses its directory entry - but NOT the ability to make and receive calls! Sure, cellular technology is useful but calls from a landline (even one that uses VoIP rather than PSTN) rarely break up due to poor transmission; aren't timed (at least not here!); and increasingly the costs are included in a broadband bundle. Don't write them off just yet!!
