Please download the UCM Manual which has full instructions on Vocab upgrading, from here

The Vocabulary Download in Comfigurator allows a new vocabulary (new language or wordlist) to be downloaded into Comfort.  Go to Transfer > Vocabulary Download.
Comfigurator asks for the Engineer Code. Press F0 on the keypad and enter the  Engineer code in the window (default 6789). Select the voice file. The British voice kate28.bin can be downloaded from here

Warning: Vocabulary Download erases all messages including Names, Greeting Messages and Reminder Messages

This transfers the words, sentences and LCD keypad data to Comforts memory automatically
The entire process takes about 20 minutes. It is best to do it without activity on the zones.
Sometimes the download may time out with an error while downloading sentences. If this happens, do not repeat the Vocabulary download. Just do Tranfer > Sentence Download and select the same bin file. The sentence download is shorter, about 5 minutes and transfers the sentence and LCD text to Comfort. Before sentence download, in Transfer menu, check the Monitor I/O item in the list. This may turn out useful later.

Comfort must be reset after the download. If after the download has completed successfully 100%, there is still no voice, follow the following steps.

Monitor I/O in the Transfer Menu opens a window which allows you to see the messages being exchanged with the UCM, like the attached image
If after reset, there is no voice, copy the line with v! in the screen eg
Tx: <STX>v!05FF1A020103<CR>
but without the <STX> and <CR> ie
v!05FF1A020103

In the text window, type LI****  where **** is your sign in code

Paste the line  v!05FF1A020103
and press <ENTER>

Reset Comfort.
the announcement "Security Off" should be heard

Is the screenshot done after the vocab download? If so it shows that the vocabulary is in place, but it is an old vocabulary version 23, while the current is 26

Or does it show the system information before the vocab download? if so send it after the Vocabuloary download

Did the vocabulary download complete without any errors? If so then the problem may be with the keypad speaker? Did the keypad LCD display "incorrect text" and ask you to press two keys to sync?

Also try to sign in on a local phone ro dial in on a remote phone and see if you can hear the voice menu

If the vocab download had errors, then repeat the process.

I have tried to downlaod Kate28.bin and it didn't finish the sentace download. i restarted that but it would always stop at 6%. i am now trying using comfigurator3.0 and it has gotten to 22% but it is extremly slow. it is about 1% every few minutes with nothing happening in the Monitor window in between. Using a serial ucm 5.175 and comfort is ultraII 5.145. TIA

We have never seen Vocab download sending 1 line every minute. In the training class apparently the vocab download completed normally so it is a mystery. Perhaps some task running in the background eating up your coputer resources?

And things were going so well...... tried to upgrade to Kate29.bin from version 23.   Seemed to download to 100% but then said Communication Failure in the Keypads followed by sending the alarm running which would not stop!  Any ideas?  I have the current/latest firmware in the mainboard and the UCM's.

Keypads will beep during a Vocab download. After it completes, do a Reset of Comfort
Vocab download erases all recorded messages and names

I reconnected the power - eventually got the alarms to spot ringing, reset and followed the instructions on the Keypad to press * and 1 at the same time. It appeared to download something. Now nothing will work - cannot connect by serial, USB or network!

All I would add is the 1 of the 3 keypads says "Communications failure"; the other 2 say:
"ID# [number] Version 1.08r"

I would add that red/green LEDs D1 and D2 on my SEM are now blinking.  Does that help resolve the matter?

Did you disconnect the Programming Cable between the UCM05 and Comfort or another module? That cable is used for firmware programming only.

I am not using the programming cable??????  Who said I was?

The fact remains that I cannot connect - connectivity to Comfort is very "hit and miss"/ unreliable.  My system is down with no answer as to how to restore save for the obvious that the vocab is corrupt.

In such cases where we are not on site to witness the problem we need to ask  all the obvious questions, like was the programming cable connected, as this would cause the situation reported. In fact, this was exactly the mistake by several other people who installed their own system. You should not be taking offence at these questions

Can you disconnect all modules  from Comfort, ie keypads, door stations, UCMs etc except for the UCM05, power off Comfort and switch on again, then attempt to connect using the UCM05

Disconnected it all today.  Green LED D2 is a steady green on the main board.  Tried to connect though the UCM (serial) and the problem remains - it will not connect; the message remains "no response from UCM".

tried to connect through USB and Network - still does not work.   So reconnected everything; same problem.  Also, as noted previously, the green and red LEDs on the SEM board are blinking.
