CM9001 does not allow the Local Phone to access the Voice menu. The DSI01 submodule plugged onto the Analog Section is needed to provide the Local Phone control feature. DSI01 includes the Ringer (replaces RGR05 in CM9000), so this is necessary for Door stations to ring the local phone. RGR05 cannnot be used with CM9001.

DSI01 Door Station Interfaceprovides the following features;
  • Allows Local phone connected at TEL OUT  to control CM9001 by voice menu by entering *, user code and # key on the phone. This feature is not available in the base CM9001.
  • Includes a Ringer circuit to allow the Door station (DS01 or DP03) to ring the local phones.
  • Voice and Mic for Door station
  • Provides an additional RS485 Bus connector (separate from the main RS485 Bus) and 12V supply for Door stations and other peripherals (eg UCM, Slaves, keypads etc). This additional RS485 Bus provides redundancy as when 1 bus is shorted, the other RS485 bus can continue to operate. The 2 RS485 busses should not be connected together – they should be connected to different Rs485 peripherals.

The photo below shows the DSI01 plugged in to CM9001 DSP side.

Installation of DSI
DSI is mounted on the DSP section of CM9001 PCB. It is connected via the 10 way H03A and 6 way H03B PCB connectors

Important:
The K51 switch on CM9001 PCB must be switched to the OFF position if DSI is plugged in, and to the ON position if DSI is not plugged in. Later versions of CM9001 do not include the K51 switch - instead there is a 2 x 3 position shunt that is plugged into the DSI01 header which must be removed in order to insert the DSI01 to CM9001

The photo below shows the CM9001 DSP side with the J104B which is the connector with  2 x 3 way shunt that should be inserted  if the DSI01 is not used. If DSI01 is to be inserted then the 2 x 3 shunt should be removed to allow the DSI01 to be plugged in. If the 2 x 3 way shunt is not inserted in the PCB (when there is no DSI01) then the TEL OUT to the phone will not be connected
