This applies to the new UCM/ETH02 Ethernet module shown below
UCM/ETH02 replaces the UCM/Ethernet (UCM/ETH01) with the orange EM100 module
The main features of the UCM/ETH02 are- 10/100 Base T Ethernet Port, more compact
- Ethernet module is programmable - this means the Ethernet interface itself is programmable with built-in Flash Memory and has its own firmware and application. This is not the same as the UCM Firmware which controls the communications between the Ethernet and Comfort. The Ethernet module firmware is uploaded using the DS Explorer
- Network Protocols: TCP, UDP, ARP
The ETH02 Submodule is available as a plug-in module that can be plugged in to UCM06, UCM/232 or older UCM/Eth01 to replace the existing interface module on the UCM.
The older ETH01 looks like the image below
The UCM/Ethernet has better features that are recommended especially for the iPhone application, for example, if the ethernet connection is lost, the module will automatically log off Comfort
The latest UCM Manual which included the UCM/ETH02 can be downloaded from http://www.cytech.biz/ucm_manual.html

Upgrading ETH02 firmware/application using DS Explorer
One of the features of the new ETH02 ethernet module used in UCM/ETH02 is that its firmware is programmable. This refers to the firmware on the ETH02 ethernet module which handles Ethernet, not the UCM firmware on the baseboard which handles communications with Comfort.
The ETH02 firmware is upgraded using the DS Explorer Software, which can be downloaded from http://www.cytech.biz/device_explorer.html
DS Explorer is used to upgrade the ETH02 firmware on the UCM/ETH02 and does not work for UCM/ETH01
To upgrade the ETH02 firmware on the module, run DS Explorer.
There are 2 UCM/ETH02 devices shown in the screenshot above at 10.0.0.24 and 10.0.0.25 on the local network. Each device is shown as a Fixed Firmware device (with the blue icon) and a programmable firmware device shown highlighted above.
To upgrade firmware select the Programmable firmware icon for the ETH02 and press the Upload button on the right
Select "Load Firmware Through the Network"
Browse to the folder with the ETH02 firmware file. The new ETH02 firmware files can be downloaded from http://www.cytech.biz/eth02_firmware.html
After the file is selected the Firmware Upload starts
The Network Upload progress bar is shown. This should take only a few seconds
If the Network Upload Progress window appears but the bars do not move, it means that there is a firewall on the PC or network preventing this. Disable the firewall and try again
Warning - after upgrading the ETH02 firmware, go back to DS Manager to discover the ETH02. If there is an Error message, Intiialise the device. This will reset all parameters to default except the IP address, so you will have to re-enter the parameters. Refer to the UCM Manual at http://www.cytech.biz/ucm_manual.html
The features of the new ETH02 firmware are described at the iPhone forum http://www.comfortforums.com/forum96/2603.html

Can you expand on this a bit more as there are two BIN files in the downloads section so do we upload the respective ones to each of the DS explorer entries.
Also versions on the files look much older than in your screenshots?
My starting point looks like this.
The BIN files:
cytech_application-3_02.bin
soi_application-2_04-(EM500EV).bin
So confused!
