On the UCM/ETH03 there are 2 different processors;
the UCM Baseboard runs UCM firmware which handles the communication between the Comfort Rs485 Bus and the plug-in submodule which may be the ETH03, USB, or Rs232. The UCM firmware is the same for all 3 of these submodules. The submodules convert the serial data from the UCM to the appropriate hardware interface; USB, ETH03 and RS232. The UCM baseboard firmware is upgraded using Comfigurator. see http://www.comfortforums.com/forum92/3400.html for upgrading UCM instructions.
For USB and RS232 interface there is no processor on the submodule, as there is no formatting of the serial data. However for Eth03 interface, there is a processor to implement the TCP/IP stack, SNTP, and email functions. This processor firmware can be upgraded using Comfort Server Manager. see http://www.comfortforums.com/forum113/3820.html for upgrading instructions
Comfort Server Manager is software to handle the assignment of IP Address and Port, Server or Client Modes, ETH03 Firmware upgrade, SNTP (Internet Time Server) and email sending functions. This software can be upgraded. Comfigurator wioll detect if the Comfort Server manager software is not up to date and will prompt for upgrade whenever Comfort Server Manager starts
