Hi
I seem to have 2 problems.
I installed brand new eth03 and got "happy" lights everywhere. Unfortunately device is non discoverable in configurator. I then tried a firmware upgrade using UCM232 (currently 7.076) to Ultra (currently 7.099) and got "DUT not connected" I thought that link was only required for older firmware versions. I have never seen it before.
I now seem to have corrupted the main firmware which is asking for a write of filesystem 34.
Help please.
John
Edit do I need to do this?
http://www.comfortforums.com/forum111/2485.html
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you say UCM/ETH03 is not discoverable in Comfigurator, did you use Comfort Server Manager?
See instructions at http://www.comfortforums.com/forum113/3695.html
Comfort server manager allows you to discover the ETH03 and assign an IP Address
If you cannot see ETH03 in CS Manager go to this link for solutions
http://www.comfortforums.com/forum113/3823.html
You tried to do a firmware upgrade and got "DUT not connected"
This message is only for UCM upgrade by programing cable http://www.comfortforums.com/forum111/2485.html
This requires the UCNM programming cable to be connnected and if not connected then you wil get this message
If you have UCM firmware and above then do not use this method
see http://www.comfortforums.com/forum111/2485.html
Remove the UCM programming cable from Comfort and reset it
If you have already connected the UCM programming cable and have done an incomplete firmware upgrade then Comfort will not work, as the firmware is corruptred
you need to folow the instructions in the link you gave and complete the firmware upgrade with the UCM programming cable makeing sure the programming cable and shunts are correctly fixed

Thanks for that. I was not using a programming cable when I got "DUT not connected"I thought I was doing a standard upgrade which I have done before without any hitches. Is it possible to corrupt the system without using the cable? Anyway it's a cable upgrade now. Do I go for version 7_113?
thanks
John
PS Yes I did use CS manager and it wasn't discovered. If I was to just apply volts to the ETH03 board and connect to router, then the router should see it as an attached device?Last edited on Sunday Nov 6th, 2016 12:25 pm by mugginsjm

if you get DUT not connected, it means you are trying to do the Upgrade by cable method but not connecting the cable ie Transfer > Upgrade firmware by cable
It is not possible to corrupte the firmware if you tdid this without the upgradecable connected
If you are doing firmware upgrade by other m,ethods then do not do this way
Rifght cllick on Controller in Modules tab and select "Check for Upgrades"
This will automatically upgrade to the latest version from teh server. You do not need to select any firmware version
For your 2nd question make sure you do not select DS Manager instead
If you select CS Manager and dpo not see the IP address then check the links in the previous reply

Perhaps I pressed the wrong button in configurator but I did not use any cable and still got a request to rewrite filesystem 34.
System does seem to be corrupt and is dead.
Now I cannot connect to the UCM board. I have it connected only to the motherboard at the moment. I am getting a port closed message. I have tested the USB to serial cable and it is working. I had no problems with it before this meltdown.
UPDATE:
Some progress: Swapped windows 10 PC for another with XP and now can discover ETHO3( even though I disabled all firewalls). I am connected to it directly from the PC on a fixed LAN IP. I thought since the UCM232 board seems to have a problem I'll use the ETH03 to program the motherboard. But no it also says "No UCM connection" Is the motherboard somehow pulling it down?
UPDATE 2:
My issue is exactly the same as discussed in
http://www.comfortforums.com/forum113/4015.html
except for the flashing D9 and D10.
Unfortunately that solution didn't work for me.
My entire house, lighting. security and heating depends on Comfort. That and the fact that the loft ladder has been down for the last 48 hours and all keypads beeping constantly has driven my wife out of the house. She may never come back!Last edited on Sunday Nov 6th, 2016 06:09 pm by mugginsjm

Anyone help me please?
Surely the ethernet card should at least acknowledge the existence of the UCM it sits on?

If ther Comfort firmware is corupted, you need to do an upgrade by ucm programming cable accordionmg to http://www.comfortforums.com/forum111/2485.html
make sure that the ucm programming cable is connected correctly and the PP2 herader uis shunted as in the instructions
Do not attempt to log in as Comfort will not respponmd
go to Transfer > Upgrade firmwre by UCM firmware upgrading cable and select a Com,fort firmware ULT 7.113.cbf file

I cannot do a firmware upgrade because I have no UCM connection from either my UCM232 or my new ETH03.

You can do a firmware upgrade using cable
You do not need to logiin
Just go to Transfer > Firmware upgrade by UCNM programming cable and select the comfiort cbf file
This does not need a login

I eventually managed to upload firmware with great thanks to Chiu who talked me through it. So a couple of pointers for anyone with similar issues.
1. Windows 10 blocks everything and if you have issues in discovering ETH03 in CS manager then try another PC with Win7 or even XP.
2. If the motherboard is dead/corrupted don't expect any communications with UCM as it requires the intelligence of the main board to work.
3. If the firmware upload (with cable and shunt in place) fails and says "no UCM comms" then keep trying as mine took 4 attempts.
hope this is helpful.

This wil be elimated by a UCM firmware upgrade soon
